Often times in life we wander through the day to day, meeting new people, seeing acquaintances and see the people we have known forever… never really knowing the full story. Never asking the follow up from “how’s it going” to “no, really, tell me more?” Here’s your opportunity and mine to get to know a beautiful family. I’d bet that because Katie + Evan are expecting, and because of their shining, glowing faces, you would never even imagine the heartache they’ve experienced at an incredibly deep level. You see, Katie lost her mamma to a liver disease in January. I’m eternally grateful to people like Katie because she not only experienced this tragedy, but she has embraced what she needs to do to get through, she has not given up on the JOY that is having a 2nd child growing insider her and she openly shares her story with the world. Katie is strong. She is beautiful. She is a powerful person. She also knows how to dig deeper and know people AND their full story. I know this because I know some of her friends and everyone she surrounds herself with adores her.
What an incredible family to meet as they enter this next phase in life as a gleeful family of 4! Katie, Evan and Reagan can’t hide the fact that they are giddy for Emery to arrive, ready to kiss on her and smell that new baby smell, and ecstatic to see Reagan blossom into “Big Sister” status! Their session was beautiful, dreamy and SO worth the wait! Yes we had to reschedule multiple times due to golf ball size hail or high winds, but this day couldn’t have been more perfect. With multiple outfits from Pink Blush Maternity, flower crowns from Boho Halo Co., props and even a piece of Katie’s mamma, we walked and smiled through the Cibolo Nature Center and the back of my camera smiled back (I’m pretty sure that’s a thing!). I really hope to get to meet sweet Emery and capture some newborn beauty as they welcome their sweet baby girl into the world.
