Brandee + Rey’s Golden Hour Engagement

Congratulations to Brandee + Rey! Your wedding at the Ironwood Barn at the Von Erich Ranch is going to be overflowing with elegance, grace, country charm, and it’s all because of YOU! October 3rd cannot get here fast enough!! For now, we were privileged to waltz through the Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne, TX to capture the golden glow of all the love in the air. đź’• Brandee + Rey’s Golden Hour Engagement Session has me inspired to the umpth degree – “I’m all star struck”, as Debbie Reynold‘s would sing. And to top off the romantic photo shoot, we saw the most kind, sweet girl, riding her horse down the nature path, and she allowed us to take a photo or two with her ethereal quadruped. What a DAY!

Their Love Story…

Rey and I were introduced through his best friend of over 20 years. We both worked at the same company for years, but had never met each other. I took a new role, where I happened to work closely with his best friend, John.  John was persistent with the both of us, insisting we meet, but neither of us were interested in dating at the time. After a few months, we both agreed and John passed along our numbers. For our first date, Rey took me out to a casual outdoor restaurant for a drink. We talked for hours, and, despite the typical nerves, it felt so easy. Following our first date, a weekend never went by where we didn’t spend time together. On our second date he took me on a road trip so that I could experience the best brisket in Texas. (Fun fact, many of our most favorite memories while dating were during the time spent on long drives in his truck, talking, singing, car dancing, laughing.) We spend most of our time together out in the country, where he has taught me archery, woodworking, and how to smoke the most perfect brisket! Over the past year and a half we have had such fun blending our family’s and our many four legged pets. Rey proposed this past winter one Sunday morning when we were cooped up during a cold spell. He had plans for a romantic date, that got foiled by the weather. But it was perfect, a quiet, romantic moment just between the two us.
