Welcome to the Venue at Rafter E Ranch, a true Texas hill country experience! (Brian and Mary’s words, not mine, but I 100% agree!!) Their venue is incredible and it was a dream to get to photograph Ashlee and Chad’s peach, blush, taupe, terracotta and navy wedding at the Venue at Rafter E Ranch! I don’t know if you remember, but I did Ashlee + Chad’s engagement session at Landa Park, and it made me think: their four years of being friends first before dating HAD to make for a wedding PACKED with perfect moments, precious memories and SO much fun! And I was right… The bridal party, the guests, and the atmosphere was filled with all of the above.
In addition to the party fun, the beautiful colors and the perfectly simple and elegant details, emotions definitely ran high throughout the day. I do my best to encourage first looks so we can capture that private moment and maximize picture time, but in Ashlee and Chad’s case, the aisle moment was right for them. The build up of walking down that aisle for Chad alongside his brother, the officiant, and then waiting through friends and family before Ashlee and her sweet dad made their way toward him was nothing short of intense. There were tears (but don’t tell his coworkers!), and then laughter because of all the tears and then zen breathing practices followed by more tears, leaving a rare dry spot on Chad’s sleeve left to wipe away the grasp of the moment. Ashlee was walking toward him with a father, willing and ready to give her away. And although Chad’s father was not there to witness this important moment in Chad’s journey called Life, his memory was with everyone who knew him, witnessing through them and from above. Once side by side, the emotions calmed and they got to wed on a beautiful day, surrounded by those they love.
Once again, this shy couple surprised me with killing it at their posing during portrait time before they made their way to grand entrances and all the dancing fun! And don’t get me started on Ashlee’s sense of fashion, rocking that lace dress and gorgeous bouquet and draping her girls in those peach, blush, taupe, terracotta and navy colors… there was so much visual appeal to wow the back of my camera that I couldn’t quit scrolling through when I got home at the end of the night! Jaw dropping, I mean it! And I loved getting to see the cake cutting, bouquet, garter (and beerbong, hiding under Ashlee’s dress during the garter moment hehe) and of course those first dances that make everyone tear up all over again! Witnessing Ashlee in her element with Chad, her best friend, and witnessing the emotion of this perfect day is something I don’t take lightly. If only we could do it all over again, but since we can’t, relive their day with me below!
