Emily + Justin’s Wedding at Callaghan Ranch

June 13th, 2020 seemed so, very far away when receiving Emily’s initial inquiry for an engagement session, bridals, and finally… Emily + Justin’s wedding at Callaghan Ranch in Encinal, TX. I initially spoke with them in April of 2019 and knew I had a good couple when we finished our wedding consult on FaceTime. I had the honor of driving out to a piece of ranch land for their Engagement Session (check it out HERE) where I got to meet their pups as well as Amy + Katie (Emily’s mom and sister). Of course we had to do bridals at Callaghan Ranch where they were to get married (link to blog), am I’m so glad we did! They turned out incredible with the overcast skies and the beautiful field and train backdrops. Eye. Candy. Everywhere!
Unfortunately COVID-19 became a major hindrance for friends and family to attend their June wedding, so a new date emerged. Thank goodness I was free October 3rd, 2020!!!! Y’all, this was a celebration to remember! When Gricelda and I arrived to photograph this perfect day, there was already hustle and bustle as all the details were being placed around the lawn… Amy, the coordinator, Amy the florist and AMY, the MOB, were all working their magic to make sure everything was perfect! And it truly looked it.
With all three rings and a few details set aside, we started the day as I always do… capturing the little things. It’s really the only time I spend without the bride on her amazing, special day! When finished, it was so sweet to get to chat for a bit with Emily’s grandmother (ranch owner) and hang with the girls who were “ooh”ing and “awe”ing over Emily’s beauty! Then the veil brought nearly everyone to tears! It was truly a special hangout time…
And – as always – the boys were LOTS of fun! haha. Gricelda was laughing as she spoke of her time with them: goofy and fun, playful and entertaining. It seemed as though both the bridesmaids and groomsmen were nothing short of excited for their dear loved ones getting married… FINALLY!
As the ceremony began, tears welled up in Emily’s father’s eyes as Jeff walked is sweet girl down that long aisle. Justin’s look of endearment was unmistakable and the congregation of witnesses watched as Jeff so gracefully and confidently gave Emily away. While the Catholic mass celebration proceeded, Emily and Justin’s pastor came up for some heartfelt words of wisdom, derived from scripture. Then with stretched out hands, he said a few words in prayer over the two who have been waiting for this moment for so long. As the priest took over, the celebration continued and the family joined inside the 20 person capacity chapel. Prayers were heard echoing out through the ranch as the congregation awaited that one, single moment. The kiss!
After a few portraits… it was party time, y’all! Twinkle lights throughout the ranch, a staged dance floor, excited guests and the perfect DJ made for a night to remember.
