Meghan + Micah’s Gold and Floral Garden Wedding at San Antonio Botanical Gardens

Let’s begin with the start of their love story. They met 9 years ago at Texas Tech during their Sophomore year. These two smarty-pants were in an engineering class together called “Solid Mechanics”, and DAY ONE of class, Micah asked Meghan if she would be his study partner, deeming them inseparable ever since! You would think their love was fresh and new with how they interact today – Engagements, Wedding, all of it! They are so giddy for each other and the adoration shows through every word, glance, and kisses shared, but not only that! You’ll see through the images, of course, but you would not believe the support system around these two! Hundreds of friends/family members were at their side, witnessing, celebrating, doting on and pouring their kind words/support in every moment they were there. Meghan + Micah’s Gold and Floral Garden Wedding at San Antonio Botanical Gardens (mass at St Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church) was never dull, always joyful, and completely & incandescently perfect.

Before the wedding, we met at Hotel Valencia where all the magic was happening, getting everyone ready and extra-glamorously-beautified! Robe photos on the bed, details on the porch, overlooking the riverwalk in downtown San Antonio, Shenanigans in the groom suite and a first touch moment that just melts your heart. Of course, we had to have a dress reveal with the bridesmaids, a first look with Dad and some shake-out-the-nerves vow readings while Meghan + Micah held hands, back to back – not to mention a gift for Micah that brought a surprise affect you had to almost be there to witness. Their 11 hour wedding day allotted for us to capture so many perfect memories before heading to the church!

Meghan was veil-ready, joyful and beaming while Micah took a few deep breaths, taking in the heavy but happy moment he was about to experience. With bridesmaids peeking around to witness Micah’s first look down the aisle moment, both Meghan + Micah had the sweetest tears and deep love bursting and overflowing onto the floor. Walking toward him with Mom and Dad on either side, she finally arrived at the end of the aisle, and Meghan’s daddy pulled the blusher back and handed his sweet daughter over to the fully approved man of her dreams. The moment was powerful, impactful, and left everyone in “AWE”. (Their last name is Awe, but pronounced AWE-WAY) The service was beautiful and the readings they chose were like going to church on Sunday – I loved listening to the core of their beliefs and the reasons their hearts are made of gold. But then something happened… the priest began to cry – this was not just any cry… it was LAUGHTER, Y’ALL! So much so that he had tears! I’m sorry Micah, but I have to out ya! Hahaha. The priest asked Micah to repeat the pledge of fidelity, and Micah heard “fertility” so pledged that instead. I think it took a full 5 minutes to get the congregation and the priest back from all the laughter. And Meghan was so, so sweet to gently touch Micah’s arm and love him through the laughter. With all that talk of marriage, kids, fertility prior to the wedding from the priest, it was an honest mistake that we all had a good laugh about. After composure, the wedding ceremony came to a close following the walk over to Mary, bringing her a bouquet of flowers. They sealed the deal with a kiss and we all were so excited about capturing outdoor portraits in the flowers!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever been to the Botanical Gardens??? It’s truly ethereal, and that’s the type of portraits we had the honor of capturing!!! 30 minutes of dreamy portraits and hundreds of photos later, we walked into a massive dance party and a SECOND DRESS for Meghan to party in (complete surprise to Micah and his expression was everything)! It was her original dress she liked, but chose a different one to get married in. Her bridal portraits were in both and I loved that she wore a flower crown for her second dress – This wedding reception seriously started during cocktail hour with not one but TWO mariachi bands and finished with a wild New Orleans bubble sendoff – Saxophones, Trumpets, and that classic New Orleans sound!!!! With a live band throughout the whole reception, and a crowd of people that knew how to celebrate right, it has me thinking… “let’s do that again!!!!!!”
