Stephanie and Blase’s Engagement Session at the Historic Pearl and the Alamo

There is so much to say about Stephanie and Blase’s Engagement Session at the Historic Pearl and the Alamo – where do I start?! One of my favorite things to do at the pearl is to walk along the San Antonio Riverwalk down through the bridges and beauty, runners, sight-seers, turtles, ducks, and the HISTORY. It’s truly magical… even if it was about 100ยบ! Haha, but Stephanie and Blase rocked it! We started off by choosing some outfits and nailing down the shoe options. Stephanie has such a natural beauty that Blase couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of, and it was SO easy to pose such an intense love and beautiful connection between two destined souls.

I honestly thought the heat would get to them, but nope! They danced, dipped, lifted, walked and playfully held each other for photo after photo, without being phased even a little that we were all melting away… and then location number two came up and we ventured further into downtown where the Alamo waited our much anticipated arrival! A new outfit, a fresh backdrop and some downtown hustle & bustle made for the perfect ending to our evening. The cotton candy sky did not disappoint, and the memories will certainly be long-lasting. I can’t wait for you to take a look!

Their Love Story

“Blase and I met on Bumble. We connected when we realized we each have a passion for trauma. I am a research physiologist at US Army Institute of Surgical Research at JBSA Fort Sam Houston. It is my joy to research the physiological effects of treatments for trauma. Blase found his calling in the Emergency Medical Services as an Engineer/Paramedic. He is passionate about skills and techniques to resuscitate trauma victims. Our first date was at the Saltgrass Steak House, his favorite restaurant. Once we met in person, each date revealed how similar our interests are. Each day we learn how compatible our desires are.”

“We entered into a relationship with an expectation for the eventual outcome to be marriage. Each date was an experiment at how well we worked together. Blase would tell you that he took more time to contemplate whether we would be each other’s forever partner. I think he was waiting for perfection!”

“When it came time to propose, Blase took this task very seriously. He did extensive research on the ring. Many discussions with his Mom later, he designed a ring he believed to be suitable enough to use. Blase patiently waited for my parents to visit us in San Antonio from Cary, North Carolina. At dinner at his favorite restaurant, The Saltgrass Steak House, he asked my Dad to go with him to buy ice cream for everyone. On the trip to the ice cream shop, he asked my Dad if he could marry me. Even though I didn’t know he had asked my Dad, I did notice how happy he was when he returned with enough ice cream to feed an Army. Haha.”

“Fast forward a few weeks, Blase organized a staycation at Fredericksburg, TX for the 4th of July, his favorite holiday. We had many amazing meals downtown and explored the city streets. Next, he took me hiking at Enchanted Rock. Once we summited the Rock, Blase got down on one knee and put his hand on my hip and proposed!” ~Stephanie
