Nicci + Jacob’s Engagement Session in Boerne, TX

I have been waiting on the edge of my Rothy’s shoes to capture Nicci + Jacob’s Engagement Session in Boerne, TX at the Cibolo Nature Center! Nicci has to be one of the kindest people I know, full of compliments, joy, and a definite love for Jacob as you’ll see below! As another Wedding Wire inspired couple, these two started their journey through Bumble, just like Jacob + Steph and another couple I know! I love how these dating apps are bringing such dynamic couples together!!! Nicci actually started on Bumble Bff in 2016 – I didn’t know about it until she mentioned it – what a great way to make friends in a new place like San Antonio!!
In September of 2017, Nicci found Jacob who – at the time – was stationed in San Angelo, and they met half way in Junction for a Barbecue and some drinks at the one and only bar in town, haha. They didn’t look like they belonged there, but why care when you’re having so much fun with someone you have instant chemistry with! After Junction, as Nicci puts it, “The rest is history”. And if Jacob was telling this story, their REAL first date was in San Antonio about 3 weeks later… Jacob came down to San Antonio for the weekend where they enjoyed Pat O’s piano bar, got brunch at Mad Hatter’s and hit it off even further. On Mother’s Day, Jacob + Nicci became “FB OFFICIAL” and Jacob called his Mom to tell her that he had met someone truly special. As a mom, I can only imagine what that call must have been like. <3
THE PROPOSAL. “Jacob proposed in the sweetest way. He planned a surprise proposal with both sets of our parents present for the surprise dinner. He told me we were having a make up special date night since I had wanted to go up to the Tower (the happy hour is our favorite date spot) since we hadn’t been able to go up the last time he was in town. I also like to take pictures and asked him to dress nice so I didn’t think any different when he wore a suit that evening. We went up to the look up area and after walking around for a bit, right before we went back inside he got down on one knee and proposed. I was in shock and we went down to have dinner at the Chart House. I asked if my parents knew about this and then we turned the corner and both sets of our parents were there and that’s when I broke down and couldn’t believe how much he had planned for this night. It was definitely a fairy tale proposal! A week after Jacob proposed, we found out we’ll be getting stationed in Germany next Spring!” ~Nicci
