Where do I begin today? Probably the couple: Elizabeth + Christopher! What a dynamite pairing these two are!!! Analicia (Elizabeth’s best friend and maid of honor) read off THE LIST at the reception of what Elizabeth was looking for in a husband before she met Chris, and it was as though she had described her now husband PERFECTLY! Made for each other is an understatement – it was as if God took that list, molded and crafted that human and presented him to Elizabeth. I can’t be more happy for these two and I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know them a little bit! Not only was Elizabeth + Chris’ Wedding at Saint Mary’s Parish and Hotel Valencia downtown, but we also did their engagement session downtown, near where Elizabeth works! From King William’s District to Saint Mary’s Street, we have always had THE BEST time together! Oh, the places we’ve seen. =)
After hanging at the hotel for a while we walked the short distance across the street to the cathedral. Elizabeth waited outside before entering as the lobby is the street, and I walked in ahead to greet my second shooter, waiting to capture all the moments. As soon as the doors opened, my eyes widened bigger, bigger and even still bigger. I had never been here before and I felt as though angels were singing in the background as I looked at all the amazing architecture, colors, details and history. Then Chris started his trek down the aisle to wait on his forever as we captured the excited bridal party, making their way to their front row seat, getting to witness this perfect moment where Chris and Elizabeth got to make their dreams come true. When the doors opened, Chris’ expression was priceless as Elizabeth and her daddy came toward him. A tear was shed, a smile was granted and hugs were exchanged… this was it. Throughout the service, I watched as readings were given, traditions continued and ceremonial practices prepared the way for this holy matrimony to commence.
With an epic dip kiss planned, they made their promises official! No more waiting for COVID to be over, no more planning, no more nights, difficult to fall asleep…. let the party begin! The dancing, the toasts, the portraits and exit – from beginning to end my cheeks hurt from smiling so much! Especially with the speech from Chris’ dad in the UK – that man made us all laugh pretty hard, and I loved that we got to experience a piece of him, even through travel restrictions have not yet lifted. Journey through their day with me as you scroll through the fun memories we all shared May 8th. To Chris + Elizabeth!
