Taylor + Taylor’s Wedding at Hayes Hollow

It’s no secret after shooting their engagement session at the Historic Pearl that Taylor + Taylor’s Wedding at Hayes Hollow would be nothing short of PERFECT. Now, I don’t say perfect in the way that you may think. You see, May 22nd was supposed to be the perfect wedding date. Not too hot, not too cold, beautiful blooms and the welcoming sounds of waterfalls and birds. Perfect. When May 22nd was fast approaching, the dream of a waterfall backdrop to the ceremony and beautiful, dreamy, sunset portraits seemed to fade as heavy rain was due to fall. Thankfully, I arrived at the venue with my umbrellas, a happy refrain and a game plan. I walked up to greet soon-to-be Mrs Taylor Bates, and there was only joy that filled the room. THIS is the perfect I mean. Both Taylor and Taylor, getting ready in their separate spots, had nothing but love in their hearts, smiles on their faces and a healthy measure of letting go of the ceremony backdrop they had been waiting for. There was grace, patience, kindness and a focus on all the right things that day which made this day one of my all-time favorites!!

After thoroughly enjoying my hour of detail time (so much pink, I loved it!), we captured Taylor in her dress as she showed us how it twirls and has tulle wings to play with during photos!! (EHEM, WHAT?!) It was the most perfectly elegant dress with SOOO much fun added to it – just wait until you scroll to see their dance routine at the reception! THEN we took a peek out the giant windows in her suite to find a calm moment in the day for the first look. “Let’s do it!” Taylor’s first look at his bride was so sweet as he got the biggest smile on his face and then just began twirling her and dancing then kissing her and twirling some more. It was – once again- perfect. We got a ton of portraits during this time, and then it suddenly got very dark and the rain began to fall. We brought out the clear umbrellas (as you have already seen) for a beautiful, dreamy, perfect “Share a Kiss” opportunity! The photo you see above I feel like is the theme o the day. Peace in rain, love during disappointment, Joy in all the right things. I’m so glad these two found each other in a coffee shop and fell in love. Aren’t you?
