I feel like Daniela + Greg are, at this point, some of my closest friends! We’ve known each other for literally YEARS due to COVID and the postponements that come with it. We first met for their wedding consult in March of 2019 for October to wed Daniela + Greg at Milestone New Braunfels | Legacy and then four short months later, we met again at the Japanese Tea Gardens in July of 2019 for their engagement session. I instantly felt like Daniela and Greg were friends… they were natural in front of the camera, giggled, twirled and lit up all the greenery around them with their love for one another. I knew their October 24th, 2020 wedding was going to be PERFECT…. but life threw a lemon their way.
When COVID hit and plans began changing for many of my clients, Daniela + Greg decided that they wanted to move their wedding to February of 2021… it was amazing because we were able to swing a family session at the Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne, TX on October 24th where I got to meet their adorable doggie, Abelito! They truly made the best of the situation at hand.
If you go back their engagement session, you’ll see that they went to high school together in El Paso TX. They met freshman year in high school during standardized testing since they were arranged by last name Jauregui-Jimenez they always sat behind the other. They were friends throughout the years but it wasn’t until senior year that Daniela + Greg started getting closer, However they were about to leave for college at different universities (Daniela UT Austin and Greg Texas A&M) so they didn’t want to get into a relationship.
When they went to college they kept in touch, talking and texting all day, Skype calling, Greg even went to visit Daniela. During Christmas break of our freshman year, they realized there was something there and decided to give their relationship a try. 6 years later they were engaged and happier than ever.
It was the most beautiful and thoughtful proposal ever!! They had planned a trip to Ruidoso the past Christmas. When they got to Ruidoso they went to this beautiful lake and after walking for a while he found the perfect spot to get down on one knee. It was the perfect place with a beautiful background. Little did Daniela know he had been planning this for months and actually got both of their families along with her best friends to surprise her back at the cabin. They had decorated the cabin with candles and pictures of the two of them! After that they all got dressed up and went to dinner all together. It was more than Daniela could ever imagine! She couldn’t believe he planned it all without her knowing.
On their actual wedding day of February 20th, 2021, Daniela + Greg were equally excited, emotional, ready and joyful. Hanging out with the guys, the gals, the parents, the extended family… everyone joined in the excitement that was: “this day is finally here!” Capturing moments like the first look, the dad’s first look, that aisle moment and the kiss were all my favorites…. but I have to say I loved hearing the ceremony both in English + Español. The best part was when Daniela said “I do” after the English portion, and then once the efficient finished in Español, Daniela was silent…. finally saying “Sì” followed by all the laughter. 😂 I loved watching these two and their love combining.
Daniela + Greg, thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me with your wedding, your memories and your traditions. I can’t thank you enough for all the time we’ve had to spend together and get to know each other. Y’all are some of my FAVORITE people!
